Science contact
was
a science and technology media resource service created in 1991 by the French Academy of Science and the Cité des Sciences et de lIndustrie. It became a non-profit-making
organization in 1993.
The board of
trustees included representatives of Academy of sciences, Academy of Technology, Cité des
Sciences et de lIndustrie, Villette Entreprise Foundation, journalists, and
organizations members. It had the oversight responsibilities for Science contact
administration and for its overall policy.

The scientific
advisory committee provided advice and guidance on the choice of experts. It also
reviewed
periodically the quality of the service and the independence and objectivity of the
suggested sources of information.
